[This is what Ikki was talking about, living life how he wants. He doesn't know a lot about that, but there's one thing he does know. He grabs onto Lea's arm, hugging it to his chest.]

Yeah, well I want to be with you! So come and eat with me!

[Lea laughs.]

Who am I to say no to the birthday boy, huh?

[When he hadn't had a heart, it was this that had made him feel almost whole again. No matter how he felt about himself or what he had to do, there was always Roxas with that big smile of his looking at him as if the sun rose and set on his shoulders. Seeing it with an actual heart in his chest...

Well, it doesn't make him want to rush to get home.]

[Roxas is happy to tug him off to the snack table to look at the other options, aside from cake. Oh there will be cake, but first there's some other party food to try. All kinds of different snacks that Pinkie has made happen out of thin air. He lets go of Lea long enough to get a plate and start filling it with a bit of everything.]

[Lea just watches him (and occasionally steals things off his plate). He's not sure what else the crazy little pink monster has planned, so it's probably a good idea to fortify himself first.]

Don't forget to go say hi to other people, too. You're the guest of honor, after all. Everybody's here to see you.

They are? All the pony said was that I get cake. Ice cream cake!

[Because isn't that just the best thing ever Lea? How could you hide such a thing!]

It's not like it's just some thing where we decorate everything and you eat cake. It's so people can spend time with you and give you presents and stuff like that.

[He frowns.]

If I'd known we were doing this, I woulda got you something.

Presents? Really? Again?

[It's like his voice raised an entire pitch with excitement.]

No more skateboards!

[Because he just KNOWS that's what's going through that fluffy little head right now.]

[Aw you're breaking his heart Lea!]

But I get other presents? Like what? What do you think I'll get?

[He'll live.]

How am I supposed to know? I don't even know who ended up getting invited. Pinkie's over there talking to some girl I've never seen before, so maybe she's just dragging people in off the street or something.

I like this birthday thing!

[He takes a big bite of a party sandwich.]

You just like food and presents.

[Lea steals another cookie off Roxas' plate, shoves it in his mouth, then continues to talk around it as he chews.]

My birthday's in a few months, so you better throw me a party.

[Yep, he's failing to see the problem with that assessment. Food and presents are good.]

Really? You have a birthday? When is it?

March 27, and don't ask how old I'm gonna be, 'cause I'm not sure.

[Even if he had the time to check the date, he's not sure how much that would mean. Does his time as a Nobody count? Time probably passes a little differently on different worlds, too, so at this point he has no idea how old to say he is.]

Maybe I'll let the pony pick a number.

Is March 27th far from now?

[Roxas isn't sure, he didn't measure his time with dates before, just days.]

Let's see...today's January 6th, so...[He ticks it off on his fingers.] January 6th, February 6th, March 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th. Two months and three weeks. So not for a while yet. You have time to plan a great big party.

[From what he's gathered, they're nowhere near to finding all the pieces of the gem, so they'll probably still be here when his birthday rolls around.]

I'll plan a really good one for you, I promise!

You better! I want at least this much stuff. I got clothes for Christmas, come on.

[They're pretty awesome clothes, but still. Not everyone got a skateboard.]

And I want a cake and ice cream. An ice cream cake is cheating.

But it's ice cream shaped like cake. Cake, Lea! It's way bigger than the ice cream on a stick!

Yeah, and you can get the ice cream that comes in cartons and scoop that out to go with an actual cake! You could even get different kinds of ice cream if you do that.

[Apparently Lea has Opinions on birthdays.]

And it needs to be one of those cakes that has "Happy Birthday, Lea!" written on it in icing.

Different flavours? What do you want that for?

[Roxas retaliates by pulling out his notebook and pen and holding it out to Lea.]

You better write all that down. I can already guess I'm not gonna remember all of that.

Yeah, you're probably right.

[Lea takes the notebooks and writes down some notes and then hands it back to Roxas.]

And who wouldn't want different flavors of ice cream? You can't just eat the same thing all the time! I mean, yeah, we used to do that, but that was different. That wasn't a birthday party.

It's a really good ice cream flavour though!

Yeah, it is, but I bet you could find others you like.

[Sea salt will always be special, though.]

There are different kinds,too, not just different flavors. Don't know if they have them here, but it can't hurt to look around.

[He steals more food off Roxas' plate and chews it contemplatively.]

[At this rate between them, he's going to have to get more food.]
