What: Crew shenanigans, both light-hearted and serious, while the rest of the ships prepare for and do battle with the witch.

The Antoinette is a strange ship to be on. The (wise) decision was made not to go into battle, so it has been offered as a safe haven for those unable or unwilling to join the fight against the witch.

The air of light-heartedness found might, at times, feel forced, and it is a bit. The residents have only their morale to keep them going, so that's what they rely upon.


(Please feel free to either reply to the subject headers provided or make your own! This is just a general mingle log for anyone on the Antoinette. If your character is a non-combatant who wouldn't want to go into the fight or someone injured and unable to join the fight, Kyouya has publicly offered passage, so feel free to handwave being there.

[He's just glad to have something to get him out of the dream topic, really. His legs are starting to cramp from the crouch, so he adjusts himself to sit properly next to the kid.]

[Link glared up at him. What did being a kid have to do with anything?]

All Kokiri are kids. We never get big like you. That doesn't mean I can't fight. I fight really good, too! The Great Deku Tree wouldn't have asked me to break the curse on him if I didn't.

[He's doubtful. And what's that nonsense about a tree asking him to do something? Might be one of the dreams the kid mentioned earlier...]

If you're so good, why's your leg broken?

Mister Sasuke set traps down on the ship to catch his brother, Mister Itachi, who was trying to kill us all and I ran into one. It grabbed me by my leg and pulled me up the mast and it broke my leg when it pulled me.

[Said in the deadest of deadpans.]

[HOLY CRAP THE CRAZED MURDERERS ARE ACTUALLY REAL?!?!? He knew they were a problem--but he didn't realize he would encounter a victim! What are you supposed to say to a child who goes through that?]

How did you survive?!

[The young boy stared at Hikaru for a moment, eyes blinking slowly in surprise.]

My leg was broken so the rest of the crew locked me in a room where he couldn't get to me while I was hurt. Miss Tojiko joined me after Mister Itachi burned her really bad.

[Well, that explains why the kid was saying his dreams usually had a bad man and lots of fire. Geeze, that must have been terrible.]

What happened then?

He disappeared with the rest of the people the witch cursed. I was let out of the room to try and do my duties and when everyone else went to go fight the which, I was brought here. Miss Tojiko stayed with them. The burn hurt her but she's still able to fight properly.

[The only thing stopping him from applauding the thrilling tale is the fact that he honestly believes it happened.]

That's... some pretty serious stuff. [And his entire perception of this kid has changed.] And you still think they should have let you go with them? Are you crazy?

No. If my leg wasn't broken I would have gone with them. I'm a warrior just as much as they are.

How old are you? [He'd said something about not growing up... maybe he was secretly a few thousand years old? That's explain why he's so insistent on being a fighter.]

I don't know. Why does that matter?

Well, you look like a kid. Nobody sane would let someone so young onto a battlefield, so if you want to fight, it would mean that you're really old--right?

The Great Deku Tree isn't crazy! And neither is Captain Marvelous, or Mister Link, or Miss Tojiko, or Mister Sasuke, or anyone else on the Charming Murderess. I don't have to be old to know how to fight. I bet you can't fight half as well as I can!

Even if you're a good fighter, you're still a pipsqueak.

[He's pretty confident that he could just pick the kid up and hold him upside down at arms' length to win a fight between them.]

Are you some sort of martial arts champion or something?

[breaks_pots]

I don't know what martial arts is. But I carry a sword because I know how to use it. I also know how to use the slingshot and pistol in my bag. And Mister Sasuke taught me how to throw small knives.

[Okay, maybe this kid actually is serious about being a good fighter.]

Still, even if you can use all those, it doesn't change the fact that most of the people out there will be twice your size.

[Granted it never stopped Hani-senpai, but... that's a weird situation altogether.]

I don't usually fight people. The first time I did was when we were freeing Isla Empieza from the Navy. Usually I fight monsters. They're a lot bigger than twice my size. Queen Ghoma was as big as my house. The skulltulas were four times my size.

What kind of world do you live in?

[Link stared at Hikaru, unsure how to answer that for a long moment.]

One with less water than this one?

[Hikaru makes a note to himself; don't ask this kid any more open or rhetorical questions.]

I don't think anyone is used to having this much water. I meant what sort of place do you live in, where a kid like you has to fight giant monsters?

[Link's face became serious.]

It's one that's being sickened by evil. The Great Deku Tree was cursed by an evil man of the desert. Even though I broke the curse, he was too weaken to survive. It's my duty to help stop the evil.

It used to be peaceful before the monsters appeared.

That's rough. [He says it with a grimace, raising his hand with the intention of patting the kid on the head. He really doesn't know what else to say.] So you just took orders from this tree until the desert guy killed it?

[Link's expression went sour and he pulled his head away from the incoming pat.]
