The black fortress ripples with shimmering iridescent energy, the piles of black coral heaped on roped together barges around it, bobbing in the waves. On the largest barge stands a slender man with a copper belt, wearing a face mask, orange red hair flecked with black from ash or dust. As the dawn slowly folds over the ocean, he'll look up, as if hearing some hidden voice.
At the top of the fortress, a figure climbs into vision, a woman, dressed in gray, features obscured by a hood with impenetrable darkness behind it. She staggers a moment as if she is weary, then straightens to her full height. As she speaks, her voice comes out of the journals, echoing over the water, low but clear.
"This is no small task ye do. She that rots within'll do anythin' ta stop ye. Don't hesitate to kill what ye find. If they were human once, they hain't no more. Watch out for her golems, too, or they'll drain ye dry quicker'n a wink. But if ye can get rid of 'em, it'll weaken her." She hesitates, cants her head to the side. "And if ye lot aren't as much of a bunch'a idiots as usual, ye might come out alive through this."
That said, she raises her hands. After a moment so does the man on the barge. For a moment, nothing seems to happen and then iridescent light shimmers over the coral, seeming to match that which surrounds the fortress. It crackles and dances like a fire, and then without warning bursts into a furious life, slamming against the energy of the fortress. There is the sound like thunder and light snaps and crackles, zipping with energy. Then with a woosh the light flies upward, taking the figure with it. The man on the barge lets out a cry like a seagull and dives into the water as if intending to swim after her.
For the boats that remain, a part of the fortress will crumble away into the sea, revealing a small harbor and an open doorway. Enter all ye who dare.

[He says it without really thinking about it because hell if he's letting Zoro think he can just knock him out, but it's not until immediately after that it even registers that he actually replied. He scowls and drops his hand, crossing his arms instead and shooting a glare at Zoro.]
Who's weepy? Dammit, you're such a pain in the ass. Not everything can be solved by training, you know!
[But this isn't working. Zoro's never going to let him out of his sight at this rate. Sanji huffs and cringes, pinching the bridge of his nose.]
...Right. Okay, shut up, I hear it. All this shitty whining, I'd want to punch my face in, too, if I were you.

[he turns to look through the doorway, down the corridor into the darkness. He can't see them but he can feel them, the zombies shuffling around trying to stop them from making any progress]
I found you, now I have to find Celestia. You said the throne room?

[He looks up and down the hallway, which is remarkably free of zombies at the moment. Well, they do need to get Celestia-san back and hell if Zoro will ever make it there on his own... Sanji can take him that far, at least, because he fucks off to do his thing.]
Come on, this place is a shitty maze. I'll lead.

[good, that's more like it. Maybe if he can keep Sanji focused on doing something useful, he won't roll around feeling sorry for himself. As long as he keeps the cook in sight, theoretically he shouldn't get lost. Theoretically.]

[He takes off down the hallway, heading for a stairwell he knows is nearby and just expecting Zoro to follow him. In the week plus that he's been here, he's had a lot of time to get familiar with the place. The fact that the Witch never actually locked him up in the prison probably helped with that.]

Sanji curses and skids to a sudden stop, before shifting into a fighting stance.]

[So he lunges forward into the throng at the same time Zoro does, legs flying. It's too familiar and almost makes it too easy forget that he's about to disappear on him again.]

He falls back a bit, turning so that he and Zoro are back-to-back for a moment. It puts him in a better position to deal with the zombies coming up from behind, plus he knows there's a side hallway that splits off in a separate direction just up ahead. He'll make a run for it once he's sure Zoro is well and truly occupied...]

[he charges off, completely in the opposite direction. Chances are he'll stumble on the throne room by accident while looking for the armory again]
