December 9th finds some new arrivals to this world, the same curious phenomenon that's been occurring for the past few months.

This time, however, the Navy is prepared -- or so they think.

They've got troops stationed around the island, and ships on the water to stop any arrogant, foolhardy pirates and would-be sailors from trying to make port.

So hit them with all you've got, but they're not going down easily...

When: A few days after Gibbs arrives on the island.
What: Drinking and Gossip with Gibbs
Warnings: Possible language and violence
Style: Paragraphs, but use what you feel is most comfortable!
Status: OPEN to anybody!

The drinks were like bilgewater and the food was mostly terrible, but the little tavern closest to the Backwater Brig was also extremely inexpensive. That's why Elissa had chosen it for this meeting. After selecting a table in the back that allowed her to have her back to the wall and a fairly clear view of all of the exits, she settled into her chair and opened up her journal. "Master Gibbs," she clearly said to the book once it was activated. "If you are interested in that drink, you may find me in the back of a tavern called 'The Pig-Faced Woman' with a bottle of rum that has your name upon it."

Who: Miles Edgeworth, his dog and you!
Where: Town centre, Isla Empieza
When: 11th October
What: Miles Edgeworth wakes up and tries to convince himself that he is not in a pirate world.
Warnings: None.
Style: Action tag but I'll match.
Status: Open!

[Miles Edgeworth's first instinct upon reading the journal was to assume that he was the victim of a very poor practical joke. He must have been kidnapped and taken to some faraway place. Whatever for, he was still trying to work out but he ignored his journal entry - all that rubbish about becoming a pirate had to be part of said joke (despite the weird people walking around the town centre). Or some reason, he had been abducted and taken to some strange place. That was the only logical conclusion. Although that did not explain why Pess was with him.

Well, the only thing the prosecutor felt he could do now was a) find out where he was, b) look for a phone box (he did not have his cellphone on him) and c) call Detective Gumshoe who could make arrangements for his rescue.

....If he could find a phone box.

If you happen to be passing by the town centre, you may come across a grumpy-looking man with a cute black flat-coated retriever happily trotting beside him, wagging her tail and sniffing around. If you’re friendly enough, the dog might start barking and trot straight up to you to say hello! Which can be more than said for her owner. Alternatively, you might see her owner walking up to you.]

Excuse me, I would like a word with you.

[He might look like he’s glaring at you.]

Who: The Crew of the Larrikin Deuce and Guest, Elissa
Where: On board the ship Larrikin Deuce
When: An hour or so after this conversation
What: A guest arrives with eel meat to sample some fiery fruit
Warnings: None?

Life on the high seas could become monotonous after a very short interval... or at least he thought so. Granted there had been an adventure here or there one of which had resulted in a shipment of the fruit that had set this visit in motion. A tidy little profit was made from that in more ways than one. Now they had some extra spending money and an excuse to ignore the daily chores of ship life. The break in routine was reason enough for the meeting.

With the Captain's permission the Nav. was set up and ready to receive their first visitor...

Cookies. Cookies were, hopefully, going to help soften things in the coming clash with the captain. Elissa was no royal chef by any means, but she'd learned a bit about cooking from her Nan as a child and had gleefully absorbed knowledge about such childhood favorites as cookies. Working with only a sandpit-and-fire and a flat stone set into the sand, she had managed to make a few dozen, crisp-sweet oatmeal cookies by cooking them like flat bread instead baking. If the cookies weren't enough in this battle, she had fried a trio of apple pasties to be held in reserve beneath linen cloth as a secret weapon to be deployed as necessary.

Gathering up her 'weapons' on the deep tray usually used to carry the captain's meals from the berth deck to the castle deck, Elissa made certain she also had her journal before she cautiously and painfully made her way through the low-ceiling deck and up to the main deck's open air.

08 September 2013 @ 12:00 am

You wake up in an unfamiliar town, surrounded by unfamiliar people. There's some kind of journal clutched in your hand, and as you stare blankly around you, the sky slowly starts to turn a deep, murky green.

Confused?

You should be.

If you're in the town square, you'll also see thick, greenish mist starting to pour out of the fountain. It overflows almost instantly and spreads through the streets, curling around the legs of various townsfolk who don't seem to notice. It's hard to imagine they can't feel that sharp drop in temperature, though.

Don't bother trying to get up to escape these oddities, because suddenly you'll find you can't move.

It's almost as if everything just freezes in place: people abruptly stop walking, the breeze disappears, and there's nothing but silence hanging heavily in the air.

Until a gravelly voice begins to echo inside your head.

...Dribbling cack-handed deck apes — this be the trash I ended up with?

A ghostly figure appears then, large and looming over the town. He's almost skeletal, is wearing a large pirate hat, and looks none too pleased as he makes a disgusted sound.

Aye, these maggots will have to do... There's treasure here for the taking. Ye'd be best off heading for the seas to find it.

Because if ye don't...

The figure grows larger suddenly, and the green mist now surrounding him seems to pulse with a kind of charged energy, like the thump of some far away heartbeat.

Ye'll be regretting it.

He hangs there for a moment longer, gradually looking over the town and slowing turning in midair until...he stops.

And stares straight at you.

Those dark, empty eyes bore into yours for several long seconds—

And then the figure just disappears.

The sky clears, the streets come alive again, and you're left where you were before that whole episode started: on the ground, lost in a new world, with some kind of weird journal in your hands.

The next move is yours~
